Oman-India Partnership Boosts Economic Ties, Explores Maritime Trade Opportunities

In a recent meeting held in Muscat, Oman and India have renewed their commitment to enhancing their strategic partnership with a focus on key areas such as trade, investment, energy, logistics, and emerging technologies. The discussions, conducted on Friday, were led by Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and his Indian counterpart, Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister.

The two ministers reflected on the enduring relationship between their countries and examined avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation. They highlighted the necessity of bolstering business collaborations, attracting high-quality investments, and fostering new economic opportunities that would be beneficial for both nations.

A significant portion of the dialogue was dedicated to assessing regional and international issues, with particular attention given to the security of maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The discussions addressed the ramifications of regional tensions on global trade, energy supplies, and international supply chains, underscoring the critical importance of these issues.
