After remaining hidden during the intense military confrontation, Iran’s Supreme Leader reappeared to address the conflict’s aftermath. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei showed visible signs of strain from the crisis, appearing significantly more aged than in previous public appearances.
The Iranian leader’s speech focused on challenging American claims about the complete obliteration of Iran’s nuclear program. However, UN nuclear inspectors confirmed that US bunker-buster bombs had caused enormous damage to multiple atomic facilities across the country.
Khamenei presented Iran’s retaliatory strike against US forces in Qatar as evidence of his country’s continued defiance despite the bombardment. He described this action as successful response to American aggression and warning that Iranian capabilities remained intact.
The ceasefire agreement has provided both countries with breathing room while they maintain their fundamental positions. Iran has begun the process of recovery, including partial airspace reopening and restoration of normal activities, while parliament moves to limit international nuclear oversight.
