As India marks a significant milestone in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political career, a nationwide campaign has been launched to celebrate his 25 years of public service. The Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan, initiated on Modi’s 76th birthday, commemorates his long-standing contribution to Indian politics since he first assumed the role of Gujarat’s chief minister on October 7, 2001.
A key highlight of this campaign is a motorcycle rally, which was ceremonially flagged off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Vadnagar, Modi’s birthplace. The rally is set to traverse the country from Vadnagar to Varanasi, showcasing the prime minister’s journey and achievements over the past quarter-century. Simultaneously, a parallel rally was launched by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, embarking in the opposite direction from Varanasi to Vadnagar.
Both rallies, consisting of approximately 300 bikers each, will travel through numerous states and villages, allowing participants and onlookers to engage with Modi’s political journey firsthand. The events are slated to conclude on October 7, the date marking Modi’s initial rise to the chief ministerial post in Gujarat.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan aims to illuminate Modi’s enduring public life and work. The initiative is designed to introduce younger generations to his political legacy and the impact of his leadership. Shah highlighted the intention of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies to extend the significance of this milestone to citizens across India.
